The Confidential Assignment sequel recorded a cumulative audience of 2,601,682 in the first week of its release.
As of the 12th at 7 AM KST, the Korean Film Commission has announced that Confidential Assignment 2: International mobilized 2,601,682 cumulative audiences in the first week of its release.
This is double the record of the prequel – 1,153,989 admissions in the first week. The figure is also above Top Gun: Maverick (1,526,263) and Hansan: Rising Dragon (2,269,575) that drew in 7 million moviegoers.
Confidential Assignment 2 follows North Korean detective Lim Chul Ryung (Hyun Bin) and South Korean detective Kang Jin Tae (Yoo Hae Jin), who reunite to pursue a global crime ring. Daniel Henney will be a new addition to the cast as he will play an FBI agent from the States. Since its release on the 7th, it’s shown overwhelming performance, ranking first at the box office and a reservation rate of 64.6%.
