Set to release in July, Alienoid: Part One has unveiled its teaser poster and trailer.

Alienoid: Part One follows a group of Taoists from the Goryeo dynasty who mistakenly open a time portal in search of a legendary sword. The portal connects them to humans from 2022, who are tasked with finding an extraterrestrial prisoner locked in a human body.

Director Choi Dong Hoon will be returning for the first time in seven years through this two-part project, starring Ryu Jun Yeol, Kim Woo Bin, Kim Tae Ri, So Ji Sub, Yeom Jung Ah, Jo Woo Jin, Kim Eui Sung, Lee Hanee, Shin Jung Geun, and Lee Si Hoon.

The teaser trailer shares a glimpse of an enormous spaceship flying across a city. As the narration says, “For many years, aliens have kept their prisoners locked inside human bodies,” and a robot shouts, “It’s a jailbreak!,” the teaser piques curiosity about how the story will pan out as the extraterrestrial prisoner escapes from his mortal body.

The identity of the divine sword that travels time and the guard (played by Kim Woo Bin), who passes through the time gate, teases how the story will play out as they jump in between different periods. Plus, those who fight against the escapee, the monks who are after the divine sword, Lee Ahn (Kim Tae Ri) holding a pistol in the Goryeo Dynasty and the caption that says, “This summer, the time gate opens and everything will start to change,” make us wonder how this exciting time-travel story will unravel.

Alienoid: Part One will hit theaters on July 20th.
