Jung Eun Chae posed for the June issue of Vogue Korea and showed off her unique yet trendy charm.
In the interview conducted afterwards, the actress sat down to talk about Pachinko and her upcoming drama Anna and her roles in them.
“The show had quite a long journey,” Jung Eun Chae replied when she was asked about working on the Apple TV series Pachinko. “The pre-production was very detailed, and the actors also joined the show in a slightly different way than before. The fact that it was a Korean story made with Hollywood capital was interesting, but we were accompanied by a whole lot of responsibility, perhaps because of the weight of the theme.”
She also shared her principle in acting. “I like to show variations, whether inside or outside the frame,” she shared. “If I have to move within that similar connection, I think the actor should use their voice to increase the changes into the production even a little bit. But Pachinko was different. This time, I tried not to add my own interpretations into Kyung Hee’s feelings.”
Soon, Jung Eun Chae is coming back in the new Coupang original series Anna. “Anna tells the story of the lie that started with the sense of deprivation and the person who eventually loses her identity and life because of it,” the actress introduced. “Hyun Joo, the character I play, is very different from me. I’m never the one to say outright what I want, but Hyun Joo is very direct.”
She further explained, “Because Hyun Joo focuses on her own emotions and values, she can’t reach the process of being considerate of others. Because of that, I tried not to react to fellow actors’ performances throughout the filming. I only relied on the flow of Hyun Joo’s emotions.”
