Kwon Eun Bi has joined Mnet’s Great Seoul Invasion as a regular cast member, according to Edaily.
Great Seoul Invasion is a band survival program that aims to nurture global bands that will represent Korea. The show has attracted attention as the first survival show featuring bands launched by Mnet, which has so far produced several in the K-pop, hip-hop, and dance genres.
Back in 2018, Kwon Eun Bi achieved the feat of making it to the final of Mnet’s Produce 48. Afterwards, she debuted as the leader of the project group IZ*ONE. Then last year, after the group disbanded, she dropped her solo debut album OPEN. Just last month, she released another EP titled Color and has also expanded her territory to musicals by starring in “Song of the Sun.”
The singer has expressed her love for band music in various interviews, hence the rise in expectations for the role she’ll play in Great Seoul Invasion.
Meanwhile, Great Seoul Invasion will premiere this summer. The winning band will be given prize money of 100 million KRW (about $78,600), a practice studio, and an album.
