Sh**ting Stars stars Lee Sung Kyung and Kim Young Dae posed together for the ELLE Korea pictorial.
After the photoshoot where the two stars showed off their chemistry, they sat down for a quick individual interview. Kim Young Dae, playing top star Gong Tae Sung, shared, “(Gong Tae Sung) is such a light-minded person. I have quite the expectations because he’s more similar to me than all the other roles I’ve played. I can’t wait to see how people react.” Lee Sung Kyung said, “There’s a thrill about showing the unseen side of the entertainment business that I am familiar with but many people are curious about. That’s what makes it more fun and refreshing for me as someone who acts.”
They also lavished praise on each other. Lee Sung Kyung commented, “We both have good energy on the set. If I’m more of an energetic one, Young Dae is more of a joker who sneaks up on you. That lightens the mood on the set.”
Kim Young Dae chose Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo as his favorite drama among Lee Sung Kyung’s filmography. He added, “She’s actually quite easygoing and pleasant like Bok Joo. Also, she takes such good care of the people around her. There’ so many things to respect.”
The two stars also talked about what they value in life. Lee Sung Kyung said, “Though my body may suffer, I feel healthier when I work. Even when I’m not working, I try to rest well for work. But it’s not stressful at all. I just like doing so.” Kim Young Dae opened up, “I don’t think I will be rewarded just as much as the effort I’ve put in. But they do pile up. So I need to keep on going. Those efforts may pay off in unexpected ways.”
Meanwhile, the new tvN series Sh**ting Stars tells the story of those who passionately work behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. It will premiere on April 22nd at 10:40 PM KST.
