The new Netflix original series Song of the Bandits announces its finalized cast.
Netflix has teamed up with Bad Guys: City of Evil and 38 Task Force duo, writer Han Jung Hoon and director Hwang Joon Hyuk, for the new historical action drama. Set in the Japanese colonial era, Song of the Bandits tells the stories of those that have been deprived of their homes and livelihoods and how they will do just about anything for their families, colleagues, and the Joseon people.
Kim Nam Gil plays Lee Yoon. He used to be a Japanese soldier but leaves everything behind when he sets off to Gando. And there, he becomes a bandit to protect the land and the people. Seohyun takes on the role of Nam Hee Sin. She’s the director of the railway bureau at the Government-General of Joseon who hides her real identity.
Yoo Jae Myung turns into Choi Choong Soo, a former member of the righteous army. He serves as the mainstay of the Korean villain nestled in Gando. Lee Hyun Wook plays Lee Kwang Il, an opportunist Japanese military officer. He starts an ill-fated relationship with Lee Yoon. Lastly, Lee Ho Jung becomes Eon Nyeon Yi, a gunman given the order to kill Lee Yoon.
An official shared, “The bandits, led by Lee Yoon, will show unrelenting action to protect the Joseon people and their land.”
