Yaksha: Ruthless Operations is an espionage action film set in Shenyang, China, the biggest battleground for spies. The story follows the thrilling chase of the ruthless black op team leader named “Yaksha” and the prosecutor who gets demoted to office in Shenyang. It’s a new project by The Prison director Na Hyun and the cast includes Sol Kyung Gu, Park Hae Soo, Yang Dong Geun, Lee El, Song Jae Rim, and GOT7’s Jinyoung.

The launching poster captures the intensity of the overseas NIS black op team and the prosecutor all working in Shenyang. In particular, the many bullets surrounding them herald thrilling action scenes with guns and explosions.

The Black Team is the NIS black op team that conducts secret operations across borders in areas where spies around the world have unseen battles. Ji Kang In is a ruthless team leader that doesn’t hesitate to do anything illegal to complete the task. His team includes veteran agent Hong (Yang Dong Geun); Hee Won (Lee El) who has been in the Black Team the longest; Jae Gyu (Song Jae Rim) in charge of guns and strategy; Jung Dae (Jinyoung) who handles various equipment.

Feeling suspicious of the Black Team, NIS dispatches Han Ji Hoon, a demoted prosecutor, as a special inspector to monitor their every move. Playing Han Ji Hoon, who persistently chases after the Black Team, is portrayed by Squid Game actor Park Hae Soo.

Director Na Hyun shared, “I wanted to make a spy action movie with even more intense and spectacular action scenes than The Prison. Yaksha: Ruthless Operations will be a crime flick that Korea has never seen before.”

Meanwhile, Yaksha: Ruthless Operations will be released on Netflix on April 8th.
