JYP Entertainment’s new girl group NMIXX has officially taken its first step.
On the 28th, JYP Entertainment released NMIXX’s debut trailer and members’ trailer photos sequentially on the official website.
NMIXX is the first new girl group that the “girl group powerhouse” JYP will launch three years after ITZY. It’s a 7-member team consisting of Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, BAE, Jiwoo and Kyujin. The group name is a combination of the letter “N,” meaning now, new, next, and the unknown number n, and the word “MIX,” symbolizing combination and diversity. In all, NMIXX means “the best combination for the new era.”
The newly-established department SQU4D, created exclusively for NMIXX, is led by director Lee Ji Young, the first female director in JYP. The seven members were first introduced through the pre-promotion “JYPn,” held for about four months from August to November last year. Additionally, the ‘Qualifying’ series, cover content, and the “Guerilla Live,” a unique content that aired members’ practice live, became a hot topic.
