In the final episode of Our Beloved Summer, Choi Woong and Kook Yeon Soo finally got their happy ending. The show ended with its highest ratings yet, scoring an average nationwide viewership rating of 5.3 percent.

In the last episode of Our Beloved Summer, Choi Woong (Choi Woo Shik) and Kook Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi) agree to accept each other’s decisions. The episode starts with Woong asking whether Yeon Soo wants to go abroad with him. Yeon Soo declines the offer, telling him that she wants to live her own life for now, as she is starting to enjoy hers for the first time. Choi Woong respects her decision and promises to become a man who suits her. Nevertheless, he feels worried about leaving her alone in the country, and Yeon Soo lends him a shoulder to lean on. Choi Woong then asks Yeon Soo to wait for him until he returns and promises an unchanging love for her.

Two years later, Choi Woong finally asks Yeon Soo to marry him. Although he never drew portraits before, he draws a 19-year-old Yeon Soo and makes a marriage proposal to her with the picture. The epilogue warmed the viewer’s hearts with the two taking a picture together as a married couple.

Our Beloved Summer had garnered attention with the humorous and heart-fluttering romance between the two. Many loved the drama as it brought up the memories of our first love that we all have experienced once in our lifetime.

Meanwhile, the drama’s special episode, Our Beloved Summer: The Movie, will air on January 27th 9 PM KST on SBS.
