More Than Friends star Shin Ye Eun and Hellbound actress Won Jin Ah will be joining the Korean remake of Secret.
Secret is a remake of a Taiwanese film of the same name released in 2008. It’s a fantasy romance movie that begins when a former piano genius meets a female student playing mysterious music in an old practice room.
At the time of the release, it was praised by the audience as the “legendary youth romance movie” for its harmony between heartfelt first love that transcends time and space and classical music.
Previously, EXO’s Do Kyung Soo was cast to play the male lead role, played by Jay Chou in the original film.
Unlike the original movie, which took place in an art high school, the Korean remake will center around students studying music in a college. Moreover, the crew plans to present a different kind of twist than that shown in the original movie.
Meanwhile, Secret will be produced by Hive Media Corp, which has showcased multiple tentpole films like Inside Men, Deliver Us From Evil, and The Man Standing Next. Additionally, director Seo Yoo Min, who made her directorial debut with the film Recalled, will helm the production. The filming already began on the 17th.
