BTS won three nominations at the 2021 American Music Awards (hereinafter AMAs), including the Artist of the Year.
AMAs announced the nominees for this year’s ceremony on the 28th (local time). Tracked by Billboard and MRC Data, the nominations cover the period from September 25th, 2020, to September 23rd, 2021. And BTS was nominated in three categories: Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo or Group, and Favorite Pop Song (Butter).
This is the fourth year that BTS has been nominated at the AMAs since 2018. They have always taken at least one award home for three consecutive years until last year. However, this is the first time that the act was named in AMAs’ Artist of the Year nomination. They will be competing with Ariana Grande, Drake, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.
Meanwhile, the 2021 AMAs will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA on November 21st and will be broadcast live through ABC.
