Bang Si Hyuk, CEO of BTS’s agency HYBE, will step down from his role.

On 1st, HYBE announced a major restructuring plan. They stated, “Bang will be no longer in the CEO role, but instead, he will now focus on his roles as chairman of the board of directors, where he will still be involved in decision-making about the company’s core businesses. Also, he will sincerely continue his role as a music producer in his professional field.”

Last February, HYBE announced a joint venture establishment plan with Universal Music Group. Plus, in April, Ithaca Holdings joined HYBE. It is part of a company-wide move to “accelerate global operations” by arranging top management leaders on the front line.

HYBE’S new CEO will be Park Ji Won, a former HQ CEO, who joined in May last year. The US headquarters HYBE America will be operated on a separate system by CEO Yoon Suk Jun and Scooter Braun CEO. In addition, the newly established HYBE Japan will be managed by CEO Han Hyun Rok.

HYBE announced, “We have restructured the scope of roles and responsibilities to suit the expertise of each leader so they can aggressively lead and expand in the Korean, the US, and Japanese markets.”
