Lee Kwang Soo is recording his last episode of Running Man today.
Last month, King Kong by Starship announced Lee Kwang Soo’s exit from the show due to health issues. At the time, the agency issued an official statement. “Despite the continued treatment, he had difficulties maintaining his best physical condition during the shootings,” they wrote.
The agency continued, “After a lengthy discussion with the fellow members, the production team, and the agency since the accident, we ultimately concluded that he needed time to recuperate physically and mentally.”
As a result of this decision, Lee Kwang Soo will be filming his last Running Man episode today (May 24th). Since Running Man premiered in 2010, the actor was greatly loved in Asia, even winning the nickname “Asia Prince.” But in February last year, he injured his ankle in a car accident and was absent from the shooting for a month.
Running Man producer Choi Bopil showed his disappointment about Lee Kwang Soo’s exit. “Lee Kwang Soo’s exit is regrettable beyond words as a producer and as an individual. He always did his best and understood what the production team wanted. He was a trusted member and a previous one who acted as a bridge between older and younger ones,” he shared.
