Lee Jun Ho and Lee Se Young will work together in the MBC’s upcoming romance historical series Red Cuff of the Sleeve (literal title).
Red Cuff of the Sleeve is a historical romance series based on the novel of the same name by Kang Mi Kang. It will center around the love story of Jeongjo of Joseon and Noble Consort Ui.
Lee Jun Ho will be making his comeback as an actor as the crown prince Yi San. He is a picky and arrogant perfectionist who tries nonstop to become a sage king. But deep inside, the death of his father stays as a trauma. When he becomes a king, he is given the name Jeongjo. But that was the beginning of his constant agony between his cold rationality as a king and his love for a woman.
Lee Se Young plays Noble Consort Ui of the Seong clan (Seong Duk Im). Seong Duk Im is a woman who wants to live her own life on her own terms. Even during her fierce palace life, she is after the small happiness. She has been living a peaceful life, but one day, her life takes a new turn when she meets crown prince Yi San. Since then, she starts living as Noble Consort Ui.
The production team shared, “Lee Jun Ho and Lee Se Young both have excellent acting skills with unique charms. We will meet you guys with a traditional romance historical series. So, please look forward to it.”
Meanwhile, Red Cuff of the Sleeve is helmed by Radiant Office director Jung Ji In. The Emperor: Owner of the Mask co-writer Jung Hae Ri will pen the script. The series will premiere in the latter half of this year.
