EXO’s Baekhyun will join the army on May 6th, the day of his birthday.
According to SM Entertainment, Baekhyun will enter the service on May 6th. The timing and the location will remain private, and no separate events will be held.
After completing three weeks of basic military training, Baekhyun will start his alternative service.
The singer also personally announced the news through fan community Lysn. He wrote, “It’s not like we’re saying goodbye forever, but I want to let you spend time with me in various ways. This way, you can feel we’re still together in many ways rather than just waiting, missing, and being sad during our time apart. I’ll try harder and prepare many things!”
Meanwhile, Baekhyun debuted as EXO’s main vocalist in 2012 and left many hit songs, including “Growl.” The idol’s solo career is also remarkable. His second mini-album Delight, became a million-seller, while his new smash Bambi sold 760,000 copies in just one day.
