Is INFINITE Headed for Breakup? Woollim Ent. Expires Members’ Contracts

Will INFINITE disband after being together for 11 years?

INFINITE members are going their separate ways as their contracts with Woollim Entertainment have expired. After Kim Sung Kyu, Jang Dong Woo, and Lee Sung Yeol became the next to leave the agency with a new career planned ahead of them. Therefore, fans focus their attention on whether INFINITE will continue as a group with members from different agencies.

Woollim Entertainment informed the press on the 31st, “The company’s exclusive contracts with INFINITE members Jang Dong Woo and Lee Sung Yeol have expired as of the end of this month. It’s been 11 years since they started show business with us.” Kim Sung Kyu also left the company earlier on the 7th.

The agency stated, “We would like to express our gratitude for the two who have been with us for the past eleven years. We would also like to thank fans for supporting Jang Dong Woo and Lee Sung Yeol’s music career, and we will support them.”

Though the group’s member Hoya was the first to leave the agency in 2017, INFINITE remained active with members who stayed in Woollim Entertainment. However, after L left the company in 2019, the team faced a reorganization.

Despite the first two members leaving, INFINITE released albums and held concerts up till 2019. But with Kim Sung Kyu, Jang Dong Woo, and Lee Sung Yeol taking off, future group activities seem unlikely to happen. It is because members will now each has separate agencies.

Nonetheless, we look forward to seeing the forthcoming activities of INFINITE as Lee Sung Jong, and Nam Woo Hyun are still enlisted in the military.
