BTS’s “DNA” music video has surpassed 1.2 billion views.
The number of YouTube views for the music video for the title track “DNA” of BTS’ LOVE YOURSELF: Her exceeded 1.2 billion at 3.13 a.m. KST on Feb 11st. Released in September of 2017, the music video showed a steep rise in popularity as an additional 100 million views were made only within four months after reaching 1.1 billion views.
The music video of “DNA” visually expresses the lyrics which convey the meaning that “We were destined to be intertwined from the beginning of time, and were one from our DNA” through scenes that seem to cross virtual realities and outer space.
BTS became the first Korean singer to enter the U.S. Billboard’s main singles chart for ‘Hot 100′ and the main album chart ‘Billboard 200′ with “DNA.” The song entered the ‘Hot 100′ at 67th place for four consecutive weeks and LOVE YOURSELF: Her also stayed on ‘Billboard 200′ for six weeks.
BTS has 29 music videos that have been viewed in billions, including “DNA.” These include music videos of “Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey),” “FAKE LOVE,” “IDOL,” “Dynamite,” and “SAVE ME.”
