3 High School Boys that Have Captivated Viewers’ Attention

tvN’s True Beauty, JTBC’s Live On and SBS’s The Penthouse: War in Life have caught viewers’ attention with attractive high school student characters. In each drama, Cha Eun Woo, Hwang Minhyun and Kim Young Dae are showing off their full potential as “best students” with handsome visuals and top grades.

First, Cha Eun Woo is currently taking on the role of Lee Su Ho, who boasts top grads, handsome looks, and great basketball skills, in True Beauty. No matter what he does, he is the top student in the school who has the full trust of all teachers, and on top of that, he has the awe-inspiring visual, showing off the perfect qualifications. He also stresses individualism and seems cold-hearted in some aspects, proving himself to be the wonderful “ice prince.”

Cha Eun Woo stimulates women’s hearts by playing Lee Su Ho, who looks even more perfect than the original character from the webtoon. He sweetly and comically depicts the process of falling in love with Im Joo Kyung (Moon Ga Young), whom he met as a comic book store mate, despite the fact that he knows her secret behind her bare face. The unexpected charm of Lee Su Ho, who takes care of her from her behind, has certainly captivated female viewers.

In Live On, Hwang Minhyun plays Go Eun Taek, the head of Seoyeon High School’s broadcasting club. He is a perfectionist who does not tolerate things that are not perfect. He plans every minute of his life and is famous for being strict with himself and others. Go Eun Taek is also the type of person people cannot easily approach, but the “matureness” that exudes from his flawless appearance naturally attracts the opposite sex.

Go Eun Taek’s cold and handsome face boasts a high synchronization with its actor Hwang Minhyun. Go Eun Taek meets free-spirited Baek Ho Rang (Jung Da Bin), who is the exact opposite of him, in the club and slowly falls in love with her. Not only does he mend her scar from being bullied in school, but he also puts on a sweet lover’s smile on his usual cold face from time to time, providing heart-fluttering moments for the viewers.

Kim Young Dae played Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon) and Shim Soo Ryeon (Lee Ji Ah) ‘s son, Joo Suk Hoon, in The Penthouse: War in Life. Joo Suk Hoon is the perfect guy who has it all – excellent visual, top grades, and great fight skills. He acts out “perfection” in front of Joo Dan Tae, who doesn’t allow a single fault, but he has a double face of enjoying controlling teachers and classmates in school.

Although he has evilness within him, he still has an affection for his stepmother Shim Soo Ryeon. When his stepmother’s death stirs him up, he begins to go head-on to his father. On the other hand, he is a trusting brother of his twin sister Joo Suk Kyung (Han Ji Hyun), and was seen gradually feeling compassion and falling in love with Bae Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo), who he once considered as his toy. Kim Young Dae convincingly portrayed the wandering and sorrow of an adolescent boy.
