Gong Yoo chose Kim Shin as his favorite character.

In the 156th episode of YouTube content “Civilization Express,” an interview with Gong Yoo, who appeared to promote his new film Seobok, was featured.

For one of the sketches shown in the episode, Gong Yoo was asked to pick the favorite of all the characters he played so far. Between Finding Mr.Destiny‘s Ki Joon and Coffee Prince‘s Choi Han Gyul, Gong Yoo chose the latter without hesitation, saying, “Ki Joon is attractive, but it’s not enough to win Han Gyul.”

Between Goblin‘s Kim Shin and Kim Ji Young: Born 1982‘s Dae Heon, he chose the former and added, “Kim Shin is too strong.”

For the last round, Gong Yoo was supposed to choose one between Coffee Prince‘s Choi Han Gyul and Goblin‘s Kim Shin. After much consideration, Gong Yoo chose Kim Shin, saying, “I once thought that if Choi Han Gyul evolved and got more mature, then he will be like Kim Shin. Also, of all the characters I played, he is the character who has experienced the most pain, making him more precious”

Gong Yoo also explained the famous “wink” GIF. “My fans would be holding this placard they made so carefully that has sentences like ‘please wink’ or ‘please make a heart.’ And I wanted to complete these ‘missions’ I am given in the short time,” he said. “But when other actors are saying something, I get more careful. I simply winked, and I hoped she would have held it in, but she screamed. Then I felt sorry and seemed impolite.”

Meanwhile, Seobok tells the story of former agent Ki Heon, who is given his last order to protect mutated human clone Seo Bok, who holds the secret of eternal life. As they set off on their journey, they are caught in dangerous situations as several forces acquire Seo Bok for their own agenda.
