Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, and Son Seok Koo will become soldiers who catch soldiers.
Netflix original series D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) has confirmed its major casting on September 3. Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, and Son Seok Koo will become the D.P. squad members.
D.P. tells the story of a soldier who has been conscripted into a special squad sent out to chase down deserters from the military. Based on the webtoon “D.P Dog Day,” written and drawn by Kim Bo Tong, it will realistically depict abuse and human rights issues in the military.
Jung Hae In plays Ahn Jun Ho, a quiet and calm private who is not good at adapting to new situations. He joins the D.P. squad when his keen observation and patience catch the eye of the officer in charge. He will slowly change after facing various stories of the deserters.
Koo Kyo Hwan, who recently became a hot topic with his performance in Peninsula, takes on the role of corporal Han Ho Yeol, the team leader of the D.P. squad. He seems unenthusiastic to everything, but he is stronger inside than anyone else.
Kim Sung Kyun has been cast as Sergeant Park Bum Goo, the officer in charge of the D.P. squad. He is a character who constantly curses and nags at Ahn Jun Ho and Han Ho Yeol, but actually is a soldier who takes care of the squad with his veteran insight.
Son Seok Koo will play the role of Lieutenant Lim Ji Seop, an executive in the military police who graduated from the Korea Military Academy. He only cares about his performance and considers the D.P. squad as a nuisance. He will bring about the tension in the drama.
D.P. will be directed by director Han Joon Hee, know for Coin Locker Girl, screened in the International Critics’ Week section of the 68th Cannes Film Festival. It will be written by Han Joon Hee and the original webtoon writer, Kim Bo Tong.
