It has surpassed 3 million moviegoers on the 11th day of its release, following 1 million on the fourth day and 2 million on the fifth day. This is even faster than representative box office hits of the crime-action genre, The Outlaws and Believer. The movie is also expected to beat out Peninsula to become the biggest box office hit this summer, with a cumulative audience of 3.73 million (as of August 17).

Gian84 has been embroiled in a controversy over misogyny after using inappropriate expressions in his webtoon “Bokhak Wang,” published on August 11. The day after the release of the webtoon, a petition demanding the stop publishing Gian84’s work was posted on the national petition. Then on August 13, netizens started to demand his leave from I Live Alone, in which he is appearing as a regular cast. As the controversy mounted, he revised some of the problematic parts and posted an apology.
The aftermath of Mina’s revelation has shifted to Seolhyun. As public criticism over Seolhyun, who has been cited as a bystander of bullying (by Mina), increased day after day, more and more started to demand Seolhyun to drop out of her upcoming drama, Awaken. However, the production team stated that it’s impossible for her to get off the train now due to production conditions.
