EXO’s Chanyeol is criticized for covering a Japanese song and posting it on August 15, the National Liberation Day of Korea.

On August 15, Chanyeol posted a cover song of Japanese singer Kenshi Yonezu’s “Lemon” on his sound cloud.

However, some pointed out that his choice was not appropriate, saying, “You can cover Japanese songs any time, but on national liberation day?,” “That was a bad and a rash choice,” or “For someone who has so much power over younger kids and the public, he should have been more careful.”

Earlier, Korean celebrities were embroiled in controversy by posting a picture of the rising sun fan on the National Liberation Day. At the time, they were severely criticized and later apologized for their action.

Now, Chanyeol’s cover of “Lemon” has been deleted.
