[Weekly TV Top 10] ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ Becomes the New Global Hit Drama

While the new dramas are getting lukewarm responses, existing dramas It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Once Again, and Backstreet Rookie are maintaining steady popularity. Let’s check out which programs have made headlines over the past week.

The Dramas on the 3rd week of July 2020

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, which is gaining huge popularity overseas, has maintained the top spot for five consecutive weeks. Seo Ye Ji’s fashion and even the fairytale books in the drama are getting so much attention that they affect the offline world as well. Fashion items worn by Seo Ye Ji led to a rise in sales of the brand, and storybooks were actually published. Weekend (Friday-Thursday) dramas are generally doing well, while weekday (Monday-Thursday) dramas are experiencing the worst slump. In particular, Wednesday-Thursday dramas, which have been pushed back by the trot craze, have only garnered 7 percent viewership even after adding all three major broadcasters (KBS, MBC, and JTBC). The Monday-Tuesday dramas are also recording similar viewership of 3 to 4 percent.

Heart Signal 3, which finally came to an end after a special episode, has maintained its number one post for 11 consecutive weeks. The cast, including Park Ji Hyun, Kim Kang Yeol, Chun In Woo, and Seo Min Jae, gave updates after the show ended, reducing viewers’ curiosity. Although tvN’s new entertainment show Summer Vacation featured real brother and sister chemistry of Jung Yoo Mi and Choi Woo Shik, viewers showed mixed responses that it lacks the differentiated charms from already existing producer Na Young Suk’s shows. Moreover, attention is being paid to whether they will be able to overcome the controversy over adding Japanese features and plagiarism.

  • Superb acting of Kim Soo Hyun and all the actors in It’s Okay to not be okay , loved by audiences all over the world

  • I love it’s ok not to be ok!! It sucks every weekend after I have finished the new two releases and have to wait another week for new ones. The lead actors are perfect in their roles. SEO ye ji is gorgeous and her sultry voice is perfect for this darker and mysterious character. The supporting actor who plays the autistic brother should win an award as he is terrific. As someone who interacts with autistic young adults he does an amazing job portraying the mannerisms and behaviors!!

  • Amazing storyline, cast and staff. You did a great job. One of a kind story. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 I will miss this 😢😢 I’m not okay knowing it will end by this weekend. Kim Soo Hyun and Seo Ye Ji 💕
