Viewers will be able to watch and listen to the gemlike music of Ennio Morricone, the master of film scores. Unfortunately, he recently passed away on July 6th.
SBS will broadcast Ennio Morricone’s first live concert in Korea to commemorate his work and contributions to music.
Ennio Morricone was born in Italy in 1928 and majored in classical music. He began composing film scores in 1955 and wrote over 500 scores ever since. Though much of the movies he composed scores for were well-received by the public, it was often the case that his music was more famous than the film itself.
It is impossible to think of Cinema Paradiso without recalling “Toto’s Theme.” The Mission would not be a movie without “Gabriel’s Oboe.” And Once Upon a Time in America would not be a thing if it weren’t for “Amapola.”
He is a legendary composer, even for a wide spectrum of genres like drama, horror, thriller, political drama, and art films.
