EXO’s Baekhyun became the artist who achieved million sellers with both solo and group albums.
According to SM Entertainment, Baekhyun sold a total of 1,018,746 copies (as of June 30) with his second solo album Delight released on May 25. it is the first time in 19 years that a solo artist’s album has sold more than 1 million copies since Kim Gun Mo’s 7th album Another Days in 2001.
Especially, Baekhyun has already achieved the title of million seller as a group. EXO became a million seller in 2013 for the first time in K-POP history after 12 years, opening an era of 1 million album sales. Since then, they have become a Quintuple Million Sellers after selling 1 million copies with all five full-length albums.
This makes Baekhyun the second artist to be million sellers with both solo and group albums since Seo Tae Ji.
On July 1, Baekhyun expressed his joy by writing, “Congratulations on becoming the Million Seller! I’m so happy as soon as I open my eyes,” on his Twitter.
