A remake of the hit comedy Miss & Mrs. Cops, starring Ra Mi Ran and Lee Sung Kyung, for the small screen has eventually foundered on the unspecified reasons.
On March 18, OSEN reported exclusively that the production for a TV remake of Miss & Mrs. Cops got suspended. The actors who starred in the original movie are also said to have decided not to appear in the drama version. This news has quickly spread through various media including OSEN, but none of them have clearly revealed why the project has gone up in smoke.
Miss & Mrs. Cops, which was released last May, is a crime comedy film that depicts the two female police detectives who carry out an unofficial investigation against the sexual assault case. It secured a box office success by hitting its break-even point (approximately 1.5 million viewers) and attracting 1,629,528 moviegoers (provided by KOFIC, Korean Film Council). Although OCN announced last year that it’ll adapt the film for its original series, it’s now said that this project has been reset.
