The new art film Lucky Chan-sil, which was directed by Kim Cho Hee and released on March 5, has really become lucky as its title suggests.

According to the KOREA Box-office Information System (KOBIS), run by Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the movie’s attendance surpassed the 10,000 mark on March 10, the fifth day since its release. It’s such a meaningful result at this time when a lot of theatres have become empty and been temporarily closed due to the spread of COVID-19 (the new Coronavirus).

On the same day, Challan Film, the distributor of Lucky Chan-sil, posted a special video on its official SNS channels to celebrate the film’s success. This video, starring the two lead actors (Kang Mal Geum and Youn Yuh Jung) of Lucky Chan-sil, makes the viewers put a little smile on their own faces with a lovely chemistry and a calm sense of humor.

Meanwhile, Lucky Chan-sil is a story of a filmmaker who suddenly loses her job and becomes the housekeeper of her fellow actor. After watching it, many moviegoers have shared positive reviews for the film, saying “thank you for giving me luck with this warm-hearted work during the hard time,” and “wish everyone meet the lucky Chan-sil and get a good energy from her.”
