On Feb. 24, Big Bang‘s lead vocalist Taeyang and his fellow stars donated KRW 60 million, the proceeds from the flea market and auction held by themselves, to The Snail of Love (the Korean charity to help the hard of hearing). These proceeds will be used to support implant surgeries of artificial cochleae and language therapies for the hearing-impaired children and teenagers.

Taeyang previously hosted an event titled “Hwa-dap (‘response’ in Korean): A Flea Market & Auction For Donations With Taeyang & Friends” at PIER59 Studio in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on Jan. 18. He offered his own treasures (about 1,300 kinds) for sale. Other K-Pop stars such as Sandara Park, CL, AKMU (Akdong Musician), WINNER, and iKON also participated in this event to sell their favorite belongings―including clothes, shoes and accessaries―which are more than 2,100 kinds. The flea market and auction attracted nearly 700 fans who were willing to take a part in donations with their beloved stars.

Taeyang stated that he was glad to join his fans for a good cause, saying “I hope these profits will somewhat benefit the children and teens who are suffering from hearing disorders.” What a great job, Taeyang and his friends!
