Yang’s YouTube channel hit 10,000 subscribers in just one day. As of this morning, total of 17,800 people have subscribed. The number of views on the video he left exceeded 60,000 and more than 3,400 comments surely prove his popularity.

Yang, who debuted back in 1991 with the single “Rebecca,” introduced unconventional performances and a fashion style much ahead of his time, but failed to gain any wide popularity from the public at the time. However, as the popularity of the “Newtro (New-Retro)” began to rise, he gained a huge attention online under the nickname “Topgol G-dragon.“

His popularity reached its peak when he appeared on JTBC’s “Suga Man 3.” Since then, Yang Joon Il has returned from the U.S. and got his career back on track by holding his 1st fan meeting.
