As the glitterati converged on Paris for Fashion Week, a spotlight was cast on members of Korean girl groups. Paris Fashion Week, a pinnacle event alongside New York, London, and Milan in the fashion calendar, is lauded for its size and prestige. This year’s most anticipated women’s collections took center stage from February 26th to March 5th.
K-pop stars were among the illustrious invitees, making their presence felt across Paris. Notably, they showed unwavering support for the fashion brands they serve as ambassadors to.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa graced the finale of the Fashion Week on March 5th at the Louis Vuitton show. Amidst swirling rumors of a romance with Frederic Arnault, the 29-year-old CEO of LVMH’s watch division and the fourth son of LVMH Group’s chairman, Bernard Arnault, Lisa’s presence was significant. She shared a moment with Nicolas Ghesquière, the women’s creative director of the house of Louis Vuitton, captioning a photo on Instagram, “A big thank you for inviting me, the last show of the fashion week ends beautifully.” A testament to her influence, a video of Lisa posted on Louis Vuitton’s official channel garnered 140,000 likes in just two hours.
NewJeans’ Hyein, also an ambassador for Louis Vuitton, and TWICE’s Nayeon made appearances at the show, adding to the star-studded event.
Other BLACKPINK members were equally in demand. Jennie, dubbed “the human Chanel,” attended the Chanel show on the 5th, while Jisoo, a Dior ambassador, was spotted at the Dior show on February 27th. Rosé also attended the Saint Laurent show on February 27th, rubbing shoulders with British actress Lily Collins.
The Miu Miu show on March 5th saw participation from IVE’s Jang Wonyoung, TWICE’s Momo, and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie. aespa’s Giselle attended a Loewe event, where she met with Creative Director Jonathan Anderson.
Even the pre-debut group from HYBE’s BELIFT LAB, ILLIT, garnered attention by attending the Acne Studios show on February 28th, marking their first official public appearance. HYBE stated, “ILLIT has been receiving significant global attention even before their debut,” highlighting their early impact on the global fashion scene.
