Kim Nam Gil is in talks to lead the new Netflix mega-scale project, Rogue: Sound of the Sword (literal title).
On the 14th, the actor’s agency Gilstory ENT confirmed that Kim Nam Gil is reviewing the offer,
As is known, Rogue: Sound of the Sword is an action romance drama set in the 1920s. It tells the story of the people, who were deprived of their homes, as they struggle to protect their homes, families, and friends. Kim Nam Gil was offered the male lead Lee Yoon. Born as a slave, Lee Yoon had neither learned nor had a chance to learn.
Especially, the show will take the form of spaghetti western (a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone’s film-making style). This new series with a reported budget of 30 billion KRW (about $25.3 million) will start filming next year.
If Kim Nam Gil joins the production, he will showcase various performances, from action to romance.
Meanwhile, Kim Nam Gil will greet the viewers with two dramas next year, SBS’s Through the Darkness (set to premiere in January) and Island.
