IU shared her good deeds to the underprivileged on her birthday.
According to EDAM Entertainment, IU donated 500 million KRW (about $441,210) to help out the underprivileged on the day of her birthday, May 16th. Her donations went to various foundations, including Korean Pediatric Cancer Foundation, YEOULDOL Association, Korean Unwed Mothers Families Association, and The Purme Foundation.
“IU wanted to do a wonderful thing in Uaena name on the last birthday of her 20s to repay the great love she has received steadily throughout her career,” shared an official from EDAM.
The donation will be used for surgery and treatment for children and adolescents suffering from rare diseases. Moreover, it will help single-parent families, older adults living alone, and children leaving institutional care to have financial independence.
Since her debut, IU has shared her good deeds with her fandom “Uaena” on every special anniversary. For example, in March, she donated 100 million KRW (about $88,275) to support single-parent families and people with hearing loss with her fans to mark her 5th full album release.
