Ha Jin Won is making her comeback to the big screen as adult Seung Yi in the upcoming movie Pawn.
Next month, Ha Ji Won will greet the audience with the movie Pawn (directed by director Kang Dae Kyu). Pawn is about a man, who would do anything for money, and his colleague raising a child who they took as a collateral.
In Pawn, Ha Ji Won plays adult Seung Yi, who grew up well as a “treasure.” In particular, she will present unique chemistry and dense emotional acting with Sung Dong Il and Kim Hee Won, who raised her as a “collateral,” touching the audience.
Confessing that she cried her eyes out when she first read the script, Ha Jin Won said, “I think the audience will be able to deeply empathize with Pawn. It will be a ‘necessary’ movie in this era.”
Director Kang Dae Kyu, who previously worked with Ha Jon Won in movie Duelist and Haeundae, said, “Ha Ji Won always plays a stable role that provide truest to the audience,” as he explained why he chose Ha Ji Won to play the adult Seung Yi role. “Even when we filmed the same scene several times, she would always put a smile on her face and warm the atmosphere of the scene,” he added, expressing his gratitude.
Pawn is scheduled to be released in September.
