Park Hyung Sik recently sat down for an interview with Singles magazine.
The February issue of Singles featured Park Hyung Sik in a striking photoshoot, showcasing a powerful and intense side. “I’ve been immersed in my drama role for months,” he explained, “so I think that’s influenced my look a bit,” hinting at his upcoming drama Buried Hearts.
The interview included a fun “Would You Rather” game, where Park Hyung Sik answered a variety of questions with honesty and wit. Faced with the choice of sharing his last meal with either Park Seo Joon or his ideal type, he chose Park Seo Joon. “If it’s my last meal,” he reasoned, “that means we’ve been together for a long time. I imagine we’d have some meaningful conversations.”
When asked what brings him the most joy these days, Park Hyung Sik replied, “Being with the people who love me.” He jokingly added, “I guess I can be a little needy sometimes. I always gravitate towards people who shower me with love.” He also shared the close bond he has with his family. “We’re very affectionate,” he said. “My father always says ‘I love you’ before he leaves for work, so I think I just naturally picked that up. Even when I hang up the phone with my older brother, we always say ‘I love you.'”
Looking back on his childhood, Park Hyung Sik described himself as a bit of a troublemaker. “My mom used to call me ‘No Man’ because whenever she asked me to do something, I’d always say, ‘No! No!'” he laughed. “But even though she nagged me a lot, she always praised my singing in the car. She’d say, ‘My son sings so well!'” He credits this early encouragement for his lifelong connection to music. He later joined his school band, participated in competitions, and even received business cards after performances—an experience he considers a pivotal moment in his life.
