DisneyPlus has unveiled the teaser trailer for its upcoming original series Gangnam B-Side, promising a pulse-pounding chase that has fans buzzing with excitement.
The newly released teaser reveals a suspenseful chase for missing Gangnam nightclub star Jae Hee (BIBI), pursued by various characters with conflicting motives. Detective Kang Dong Woo (Jo Woo Jin), who was demoted after a mysterious incident, returns to Gangnam to solve the case. “We need to find Kim Jae Hee to crack this wide open,” he says, suggesting there’s more beneath the surface of the case than meets the eye.
Prosecutor Min Seo Jin (Ha Yoon Kyung), assigned to the case at the orders of the chief, boldly declares, “I’m a crazy b**** blinded by ambition,” revealing her ruthless drive from the start. Meanwhile, broker Yoon Gil Ho (Ji Chang Wook), a shady character tied to Jae Hee, hints at his own agenda, saying, “I’ll handle this myself,” as he begins to take action. His cryptic remark, “Both Jae Hee and what she has need to disappear,” adds to the growing mystery.
Adding to the intrigue, Detective Kang is shown saving Yoon from danger, raising questions about the relationship between the two beyond that of cop and suspect.
Gangnam B-Side made its global debut at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, earning rave reviews. Cine21’s Choi Hyun Soo praised the series for “its fresh take on the hidden side of a familiar city, combining high-stakes chase action with strong performances for an immensely satisfying watch.” Kim Hyung Ho of Economic Review added, “The fast-paced narrative keeps viewers glued.” Song Kyung Won from Cine21 highlighted the show’s layered characters, stating, “The complex relationships between the characters are delivered through gripping storytelling and immersive tension. The actors’ stellar performances breathe life into their roles, making this chase crime drama a standout in the genre.”
Touted as one of the most anticipated releases of late 2024, Gangnam B-Side will premiere exclusively on Disney Plus on Wednesday, November 6th.
