The person who accused Song Ha Yoon of school bullying is pushing back against the actress’s legal team.
Song’s side recently claimed the accuser had been sent to prosecutors after police recognized charges of defamation, intimidation and obstruction of business. But the accuser, referred to as A, told OSEN the claim is “not true.”
A said the case went to prosecutors only because Song’s side objected to the police’s original decision not to move forward with it. According to A, that made it part of a standard review process, not a new police decision recognizing the charges.
“After the prosecution requested a supplementary investigation, police sent the results back,” A said. “I confirmed directly with the investigator that police did not make a separate decision to pursue indictment.”
Earlier, Song’s legal team argued that reports focusing on the previous non-referral decision did not reflect the current status of the case. They said police had initially declined to move forward, but after Song filed an objection and additional investigation was conducted, the allegations against the accuser were partially recognized.
However, questions were raised over the timeline, as the case could not have been referred on March 19th if the objection was filed that same day. Song’s side later admitted the date had been “incorrectly stated.”
Song’s side later added that police reinvestigated the case at the prosecution’s request and, on June 16th, forwarded it with an opinion that some charges were recognized. They said the case is now with the Cheonan branch office.
