tvN has dropped the first teaser for its upcoming drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, giving audiences a glimpse of the intense chemistry between new male lead Lee Chae Min and co-star YoonA. Lee Chae Min stepped into the role of the tyrannical king after the departure of Park Sung Hoon.
Set to premiere on August 23rd, Bon Appetit, Your Majesty is a fantasy romantic comedy about a top chef who accidentally travels through time into the past. There, she meets Yi Heon, a king who is both the era’s worst tyrant and a man with an incredibly discerning sense of taste. YoonA stars as the brilliant Chef Yeon Ji Young, while Lee Chae Min takes on the role of the formidable King Yi Heon.
The newly released teaser draws a stark contrast between the two leads. Chef Yeon Ji Young, dressed in a crisp white uniform, expertly wields a chef’s knife to bring joy to people through her food. In opposition, Tyrant Yi Heon carries a longsword that instills fear and controls the lives of his subjects. The two exchange a chilling, intense gaze, setting a tone of palpable tension.
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty will depict the journey of a chef and a tyrant, two people who wield blades with very different meanings, as they connect through cooking and experience the sweet and bitter flavors of life. To survive, Chef Yeon Ji Young must satisfy the impossible standards of a king who is also the ultimate gourmet.
The new tvN Saturday-Sunday drama premieres next month on August 23rd at 9:10 PM KST.
