Ma Dong Seok is teaming up with Feelyeon Management and veteran producer Gu Seong Mok to create new drama series based on mega-hit webtoons and webnovels.
Feelyeon Management, a subsidiary of Kakao Entertainment, announced a strategic alliance with Ma Dong Seok and Gu Seong Mok on July 24th. The partnership, called the “RunRun Project,” will focus on adapting popular webtoons and web novels into major drama productions.
Feelyeon Management is a production company that owns the rights to numerous blockbuster webtoons and novels, particularly in the romance and fantasy genres. Two of its biggest hits, Born As The Daughter of a Lowly Concubine and My Daddy Hide His Power, have each racked up over 100 million views globally and garnered more than 1 million subscribers on KakaoPage, a popular South Korean digital content platform.
The new partnership will begin by developing these two titles into drama series, with more adaptations planned for the future.
Ma Dong Seok is a powerhouse in the Korean film industry, known for developing, planning and producing many of his own successful projects. His The Roundup franchise became the first Korean film series to sell over 40 million tickets. He has also been the creative force behind projects like Pig Village and upcoming drama Twelve.
The project’s overall production will be supervised by Gu Seong Mok, a seasoned producer with numerous films to his credit, including The Neighbor and Pain. Gu is also producing Twelve, which is already one of the most anticipated dramas of 2025.
“As a content planner, I’m thrilled to be collaborating with an actor like Ma Dong Seok, who has successfully spearheaded major hit franchises,” said Jeong Se Hyun, CEO of Feelyeon Management. “By combining a top-tier actor, a brilliant producer, and incredible source material, we aim to create the best possible series for both original fans and new viewers. We’re excited for everyone to see what we have in store.”
