Is Bang Si Hyuk’s “six-year cycle” about to deliver again?
After launching BTS in 2013 and TXT in 2019, BigHit Music—founded by HYBE chairman and producer Bang Si Hyuk (a.k.a. Hitman Bang)—is preparing to unveil a brand-new boy group on August 18th. Dubbed NEW TEAM (working name), this five-member crew isn’t just here to sing and dance—they’re creators in their own right.
BigHit is calling them a Young Creator Crew, spotlighting a new kind of “producer idols” who can write, compose, choreograph, and even contribute to visual content like videography.
The lineup includes Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, and Gunho, many of whom have already left their mark behind the scenes at HYBE. Martin has songwriting credits on tracks like TXT’s “Deja Vu” and “Miracle,” ENHYPEN’s “Outsider,” and ILLIT’s “Magnetic.” Meanwhile, James co-created choreography for ILLIT’s “Magnetic,” “Cherish,” and “Tick-Tack.”
With BigHit Music’s track record of launching global megastars every six years, the debut of NEW TEAM is turning heads across the K-pop industry. Described as an all-rounder creative unit, NEW TEAM isn’t just stepping into the spotlight—they’re shaping it. This reflects the evolution of 6th-gen idols and signals a shift toward even more multi-talented, self-sufficient K-pop artists.
