Park Seo Joon is set to take on a bold new role in upcoming drama I Am a Sinner, based on the popular webtoon of the same name, according to a July 4th report from MyDaily.
The series is a gritty survival drama set in the criminal underworld. It follows Paeng Yi (real name Park Eon Jin), the lone survivor of a violent jewelry store heist. After stumbling upon a stash of gold, he partners with low-level gang members to raise drug money and gets caught in a chaotic spiral of betrayal, ambition, and madness.
Park will play Paeng Yi, the youngest member of a gang who turns to a life of crime following a devastating incident. His character is cold, calculating and utterly ruthless and he is willing to cut ties with anyone who gets in the way of his goals. As he rises through the ranks of the drug world, he becomes a key player in igniting brutal turf wars between rival factions.
Originally created by webtoon artist Lee Mu Gi, I Am a Sinner has been serialized on Kakao Webtoon since 2022 and has gained a strong following for its dark and intense storytelling.
Known for his versatility, Park Seo Joon has built a strong acting career across romantic comedies, youthful dramas and action roles. The drama is expected to show Park Seo Joon in a role unlike anything he’s done before, and fans are eager to see how he takes on this dark, crime-filled character.
