Hyeri is in love—and the lucky guy is dancer and choreographer Wootae.
According to entertainment insiders on July 1st, the two have been in a relationship for over a year. Their first meeting dates back to the filming of the 2023 movie Victory, where Hyeri starred as the passionate leader of a rookie cheerleading team called the Millennium Girls. In the film, she performed many dance routines, with choreography coaching provided by Wootae.
Wootae, who worked alongside fellow dancer Kinky as a choreographer for Victory, first met Hyeri during rehearsals in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, where the film was shot. According to a source close to the couple, “They got to know each other through dance practices during filming and were later seen enjoying dates in Seoul. They’ve been quietly dating for nearly a year, though only recently began telling those around them.”
Another insider added, “They’re being very cautious and respectful with their relationship. They supported each other through tough times, which brought them even closer.”
After debuting in 2010 with the four-member girl group Girl’s Day, Hyeri has continued to expand her acting career—most recently earning praise for her compelling turn in the drama Friendly Rivalry, which aired earlier this year. She’s currently on an Asia fan meeting tour across ten cities.
Wootae is a dancer specializing in choreography who gained public attention through Mnet’s 2022 dance competition series Street Man Fighter.
