Lee Bo Young, Lee Min Ki and Kang Ki Young have come together for an electrifying new project.
On June 24th, MBC revealed photos from the drama’s first table read, where the full cast of Mary Kills People (literal title) gathered for a high-stakes kickoff. The upcoming Friday–Saturday series follows a doctor who assists in the deaths of terminal patients, and a detective hot on her trail.

Lee Bo Young plays Woo So Jung, an ER doctor who crosses ethical lines to help terminal patients die with dignity. She brought a completely different energy from her previous roles, portraying a person who constantly agonizes and wavers about herself while helping hopeless patients with strong conviction.

Lee Min Ki steps into the role of Jo Hyun Woo, a terminal cancer patient for whom no treatment works. With a calm yet weighty delivery, Lee portrayed a man hovering between life and death—his eyes haunted, his tone deliberately controlled. Kang Ki Young plays Choi Dae Hyun, a former plastic surgeon stripped of his license, who now aids Woo So Jung in her controversial mission.
Rounding out the cast are Baek Hyun Jin as a secretive businessman, Kwon Hae Hyo as a compassionate priest and free clinic director, Kim Tae Woo as the police commissioner, and Seo Young Hee as a sharp lawyer who’s also So Jung’s neighbor. Also joining the lineup are Yoon Ga Yi as nurse Choi Ye Na, Yoo Seung Mok, Shim So Young, Kim Sang Ji, and Kang Na Eon, adding further weight and energy to the world of the drama.
The production team shared, “Even in the first table read, the cast clicked instantly—filling the room with palpable chemistry. ‘Mary Kills People’ goes beyond suspense, confronting the complex social issue of assisted death and offering a profound perspective on life and mortality.”
Mary Kills People premieres on August 1st.
