Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative has responded to reports that the actor is facing damages lawsuits totaling 7.3 billion won ($5.3 million) from multiple advertisers.
On June 19th, attorney Bang Sung Hoon of law firm LKB & Partners confirmed to Edaily that “it is true some advertisers have filed lawsuits.”
New Daily reported yesterday that Kim Soo Hyun is facing multiple lawsuits from advertisers, including a well-known rice cooker brand and a health supplement company, claiming damages that reportedly amount to 7.3 billion won.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun’s side stated, “We have not reviewed the exact amount in detail, and it’s a matter that is difficult to confirm at this time.”
The legal team added, “We believe the damage claims are based on false information, and therefore have no grounds to be accepted either legally or contractually.”
They added, “The reason advertisers are suing Kim Soo Hyun is because HoverLab made up evidence and spread false rumors. If the investigation proves that HoverLab lied, then the lawsuits will lose their grounds and will likely be dismissed or withdrawn.”
