Gong Hyo Jin is setting the record straight.

In her latest YouTube video, Gong Hyo Jin addressed recent rumors about her allegedly moving to the U.S. with husband Kevin Oh. The speculation surfaced after she revealed she’d been remodeling her newlywed home in New York in her previous video.

During a casual moment in a cooking class featured on the video, a pastry chef cautiously asked, “Are you immigrating?”—prompting a surprised Gong to reply, “Immigrating?” with a wide-eyed look.

“I get asked this a lot,” the actress said. “Whenever I mention something, people go, ‘Are you leaving?’ I was wondering where that came from, so I looked online and saw (articles) like ‘Gong Hyo Jin’s life in America.’” Opening up further, she admitted, “I mean, everybody has a life they want. Living half here, half there—that’s something I’ve wanted since I was young.”

But she was quick to clarify her current situation: “I don’t even have a U.S. visa. I can’t legally stay for more than 90 days.” Laughing, she added, “But guess people feel like I married to have a New York life.”

Firmly shutting down the rumors, Gong said, “How could I leave? I don’t even have a single friend there. I keep saying I’ll take it easy with work, but I love my work. I want to act so damn much.” She then reassured her fans, “Don’t be too upset. I can’t even stay in the country more than 90 days.”
