Lee Si Young has shared her thoughts on returning to the small screen with Salon de Holmes following her divorce.
ENA held a press conference for its new Monday–Tuesday drama Salon de Holmes on June 16th at the Grand Ballroom of the Stanford Hotel Korea. In attendance were director Min Jin Ki and cast members Lee Si Young, Jung Young Joo, Kim Da Som and Nam Ki Ae.
Salon de Holmes is a comedic action series set in the fictional Gwangseon Jugong Apartments. The story follows four women—a former ace detective, a top insurance agent, and a part-time job master—who team up as the neighborhood’s unofficial problem-solvers to take down the apartment’s resident villains.
Lee Si Young takes on the role of Gong Miri, dubbed the “Detective Holmes” of the complex, who plays a key part in uncovering the truth behind the chaos threatening her community.
Speaking about her long-awaited return to television, Lee shared, “I’ve always loved physical activities and naturally gravitated toward action-heavy roles. But I’ve also had a deep love for comedy. I was genuinely thrilled to be offered this project. When the director reached out, I felt grateful and excited. It felt like a role I could truly enjoy.”
Addressing her return to work after her recent divorce, she said candidly, “Of course I had my concerns, and I became more cautious due to personal reasons. But thankfully, it didn’t affect my work. The director and my co-stars were all incredibly supportive, and I’m so grateful for that. I’m also relieved that the drama has such a lighthearted tone.”
She added, “Even though we filmed this before the divorce, I’m genuinely enjoying the promotional activities now. I just hope the show receives as much love as we poured into making it.”
Back in April, her agency Ace Factory confirmed that Lee had filed for divorce mediation at the Seoul Family Court earlier this year. Lee married restaurant entrepreneur Jo Seung Hyun in September 2017 and welcomed a son in January 2018. The two have decided to go their separate ways after eight years of marriage.
