The eldest son of Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae Myung has been fined for posting sexually suggestive comments about aespa’s Karina on online communities, according to reports that surfaced recently.
The individual, identified only as Lee, left disturbing comments such as “She looks delicious” and “I want to hug her” on Karina’s images. He was investigated by police on charges of displaying obscene language under telecommunications network laws.
Authorities also uncovered that Lee had been involved in habitual gambling activities. From 2019 over a period of roughly a year and a half, he regularly participated in online poker games, buying and selling poker chips and even visiting gambling establishments.
In 2023, prosecutors filed a summary indictment, and the Suwon District Court issued a fine of 5 million KRW (approximately $3,600). As Lee did not request a formal trial, the sentence was finalized.
Meanwhile, Karina was recently caught in unexpected controversy after posting a photo on Instagram wearing a red jumper with the number “2” printed on it. Some speculated the image had political undertones, but Karina was quick to clarify: “There was absolutely no political intent.” The jumper, from the streetwear brand Vaquera, soon sold out online following the post.
