The fiery but soft six member girl group under Hi-Hat Entertainment consists of Won Hwa Yeon, Taerin, Rahee, Kasia, Meu, and Sasha. Their diverse looks and talents make them shine and although they just debuted on April 8th with their first digital single ERLU BLUE, the girls already feel like seniors on the stage with their hit track “NERDY.”

The girls are really focused on delivering a concept that is memorable but different, as it showcases their many colors and talents. Now, the girls met with ZAPZEE to not only greet fans in their special video but also through this exclusive interview! Q. It’s been a month since Ifeye debuted. How has the group been preparing for this moment? What is the most exciting thing about finally debuting?
Won Hwa Yeon: We value the ability to deliver what we want to express to people, both in our performances and vocally. I think it’s so thrilling to finally leave the practice room and perform on stage while listening to people’s cheers. I am genuinely happy.
Q. Each of the members is quite young – how does it feel to live life as a High School Pop Star? Do you feel like life is quite different or difficult?
Taerin: I’ve been dreaming of becoming an idol since I was really young, so I’m actually very happy now. Of course, it was difficult for me to have other responsibilities while being a student and working to become an idol, but I think I’m enjoying being an idol because of the music. I really want to do this, and the fact that I can shine on the stage now inspires me.
Q. Tell us about your debut concept? “NERDY” has a very wholesome schoolgirl vibe. What is the story behind the song?
Kasia: “NERDY” compares the wavering feelings among teenage girls with a focus on first love. Also, we tried to express the wavering emotions through an innocent but chic concept. Please look forward to the innocent styles of the ifeye girls!
Q. Was there another song or concept the group almost debuted with? If you could debut with a different concept, what would the members choose?
Rahee: There are three more songs in our album. One is called “Bubble Up,” which features powerful and exciting beats. It’s a song that has opposite charms to “NERDY.” Even if I could debut with a different concept, I would still want to debut with our current concept of “innocent chic” girlhood. I think the concept is perfect for ifeye because all six of us have innocent and chic looks.
Q. Do you think being a 4th generation idol group is harder than a 1st generation idol because of the multiple social media platforms? What content do you plan to release?
Meu: We would like to reveal a lot of our hidden and undisclosed talents through our own contents in the future with various social media. The goal is to appeal to our new fans by going on programs that fit the individuality of all the members.
Q. Does the group have any funny stories they can share from their pre-debut days or while filming the “NERDY” MV?
Sasha: It was really cold when we filmed the music video for “NERDY.” At that time, Taerin was so close to the space heater that her padded jacket almost caught fire and burned down. It was a funny thing because Taerin was very embarrassed.
Q. Are there any K-Dramas the members are watching lately?
Taerin: I’ve been watching When Life Gives You Tangerines whenever I have free time. I’m completely into it! It’s going to be my favorite drama. There are so many things I can relate to, and whenever I watch it, I think of my parents, so I always call them after watching the drama. I think it’s a drama that has a lot of aftereffects!
With pure love for the stage written all over their faces, ifeye continues to shine and wants to share more of their heart-warming concepts and performances with fans. Before the interview came to an end, member Kasia eagerly wanted to express her love and care with a final message for ifeye’s new fans!
Kasia: Dear fans!! First of all, thank you so much for your warm interest and love for ifeye! Before our debut, my driving force was dancing and singing. Now, after debuting, I have met you all, and all the fans have added to my driving force. Our fans who always cheer us up, thank you! I will try my best to be an artist you can be proud of. I love you!
