A shocking report that revealed Kim Sae Ron not only left a list of people who helped her during her financial crisis but also called out ones who abandoned her has left netizens more than surprised.
On May 23rd, an exclusive report from SBS FunE revealed a screenshot of Kim Sae Ron’s close friends mystory where she wrote, “Please take a screen shot of this and share it if I die” on her private account. The story was uploaded on September 8 at around 2 am.
The post further read, “[Redacted names] are the ones who saved me. And I hope that the people who left me when I was having the hardest time of my life will think back on what they received from me. I took a breathalyzer test and the result was 0. Although the blood test showed a high level [of alcohol], that was from the day before. There wasn’t even a blackout (from the accident) but I still fully compensated for the damages…
Anyway, I won’t be hurting anymore.”
Allegedly, after seeing the alarming post, two of Kim Sae Ron’s close friends quickly went to her home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul to prevent an unexpected accident.
Another close friend further revealed Kim Sae Ron’s burdens and struggles saying, “Kim Sae Ron worked tirelessly by coaching in acting classes, cafes, flower shops, and bars, but was financially struggling and still feeling anxious due to the accident and lawsuit.”
SBS FunE further confirmed two members of a famous idol group, as well as a third singer, each lent Kim Sae Ron around 100 million KRW (about $72,300 USD). The report also revealed that two actors (Actor A and singer-turned-actor B) lent unspecified amounts to Kim Sae Ron after she told them about her financial difficulties. A statement was revealed from one singer C saying, “I lent Kim Sae Ron 12.0 million KRW (about $8,680 USD) in the latter half of 2023 and a little under 8.00 million KRW (about $5,790 USD) around May 2024, which I sent to her family’s account.”
It was revealed Kim Sae Ron also borrowed 50.0 million KRW (about $36,200 USD) from a business acquaintance and her agency Management Run wrote off 60.0 million KRW (about $43,400 USD) in surgery and medical expenses that she borrowed from the company.
After Kim Sae-ron’s death, Gold Medalist, whose exclusive contract ended in December 2022, had paid 700 million won (around $512,000 USD) in advance as a penalty for the Netflix series Bloodhounds that arose from her drunk driving incident and processed it as a loss of compensation in December 2023.
