The cast and crew of tvN’s weekend drama Resident Playbook are being rewarded with a group vacation following the show’s remarkable ratings success.
According to Newsen, the Resident Playbook team is scheduled to depart for Indonesia later this month or in early June. A representative from the production confirmed, “Think of it as a team-building trip with the director, some of the crew, and cast members joining together.”
The Bali getaway will include lead actors Go Youn Jung (playing Oh Yi Young), Kang You Seok (as Eom Jae Il), Shin Sia (as Pyo Nam Kyung), Han Ye Zee (as Kim Sa Bi), and Jung Jun Won (as Koo Do Won), along with key staff members.
Premiering on April 12th, Resident Playbook began with a modest nationwide rating of 3.7% (Nielsen Korea) but saw steady growth, climbing to 7.5% by its tenth episode, aired on the 11th. In the Seoul metropolitan area, the show peaked at 9.2%, and it topped its time slot with a 5.3% rating among tvN’s key 2049 demographic.
The buzz has been just as strong as the ratings. The show has topped the TV-OTT integrated popularity rankings announced by Good Data Corporation for four consecutive weeks. Related clips have amassed close to 740 million views across platforms, while the show’s soundtracks have also climbed music charts, further fueling the fanbase.
Resident Playbook wraps up with its final two episodes airing May 17th and 18th.
