Park Bo Gum has nothing but praise for his co-star IU after wrapping up their latest project together.
The actor recently sat down with SPOTVNEWS to share his thoughts on the Netflix original series When Life Gives You Tangerines, which follows the lifelong journey of two unique characters growing up on Jeju Island.
When asked about working alongside IU, Park Bo Gum didn’t hold back. “I think IU has incredible stamina—not just physically, but emotionally, he said. Playing Ae Soon alone would’ve been demanding, but she also had to take on the role of Geum Myeong. It was a packed schedule, with so many things to juggle, but she never lost her grasp on the set. She was incredibly generous with everyone. Getting to work with someone the same age as me—that alone was such a valuable experience.”
He continued, “She really opened her heart to people. Seeing how she carried herself, not just as an actor but in so many ways, gave me a lot of motivation too. It was a fun project. I just want to say—I was happy to meet her, happy to work with her, and I’m thankful for all of it.”
When Life Gives You Tangerines is a four-part Netflix series that tells the coming-of-age story of Ae Soon, a feisty rebel played by IU, and Gwan Sik, an unyielding iron portrayed by Park Bo Gum.
